Sesiunea Științifică Internațională PONTICA, ediția a 59-a
During September 24 – 26, 2026, the Museum of National History and Archaeology Constanța, the Center for Studies of Black Sea Civilizations and the Faculty of History and Political Sciences, "Ovidius" University of Constanța, with the support of the Constanța County Council, in partnership with the Numismatic Cabinet of the Library of the Romanian Academy, the "Vasile Pârvan" Institute of Archaeology of the Romanian Academy, the National Archives of Romania, the National Council for the Study of Security Archives, the National Museum of Roman Art, Merida (Spain), organizes Sesiunea Științifică Internațională PONTICA ediția a 59-a: Istorie și Arheologie în Spațiul Vest-Pontic.

The papers will be presented in the following thematic panels:
▪ Coevoluție om-mediu în spațiul vest-pontic – mileniile VII-III BC;
▪ Ornaments in prehistory: technology, functionality, symbolism;
▪ Cultural systems in the Lower Danube in protohistory;
▪ New discoveries, new approaches in Pontic and Danubian archaeology;
