The recent history began with the discovery of the Mosaic Building in the fall of 1959, in the context of the construction of apartment blocks. During several archaeological campaigns, the building was exhaustively researched, then underwent restoration and conservation operations, and finally entered the tourist circuit.

The Painted Tomb of Tomis is a monument of inestimable historical and artistic value, unique both in Dobrudja and in the entire country. Its mural paintings represent a rare example of funerary art from the Roman era, with themes and symbols that reflect the beliefs and culture of late antiquity.

The building was inaugurated in 1977 and includes archaeological remains discovered following archaeological research and fortuitous discoveries in the Tropaeum Traiani fortress, at the monument (the original pieces) and in the immediate or more distant vicinity.

The Tropaeum Traiani fortress (Adamclisi commune, Constanța county) was one of the most important economic, political and religious centers in Roman Dobrogea (within the provinces of Moesia Inferior and Scythia Minor), with specialized research conducted for more than 120 years revealing a large amount of historical, archaeological and architectural information, disseminated in scientific and popularization works.

Since Histria is a tourist attraction for Romanians, but especially for foreigners, in the 1980s a new site museum was built here. Therefore, today's Histria consists of an open-air museum (the site itself), a museum, an archaeological base, warehouses, a restaurant and a parking lot.

Istros/Histria, the oldest Greek colony on the western shore of the Black Sea, was founded by the Milesians in 657–656 BC. Although the fortress was identified on the ground since the second half of the 19th century, the first systematic research was initiated in 1914 by Vasile Pârvan.

The Hârşova Museum was organized by teacher Vasile Cotovu, son of Ioan Cotovu, founder of the city's state school, in the early years of the 20th century, in the old school building. It represented the effort of the teacher, the children and the city's inhabitants, who over time collected fragments of inscriptions, whole and fragmentary vessels, coins, paintings, rocks, folk costumes, all reunited within the museum.

The fortress occupied an important place in the Roman defensive system, being part of the series of camps and fortifications built during the reign of Emperor Trajan, at the beginning of the 2nd century, as part of the measures to organize the limes-ului dunărean.

Prehistory begins with anthropogenesis, a social-spiritual process of human formation in time and space. In this hall, the most representative is the Hamangia culture, named after the train station of the same name in Tulcea County. The communities came from Asia Minor, on the western coast of the Black Sea. The culture had a long evolution. It is about what Maria Gimbutas calls Old European Civilisation.

TICKETS INSTALLMENTS
For the purchase of tickets and multiple access cards, a discount is applied in proportion to the number of tickets and multiple access cards purchased, as follows:
a. for installments of up to 50 pieces, the rates approved in point A. Access rates for museums, museum points, monuments and fortresses apply
b. for installments from 51 to 160 pieces (access tickets and multiple access cards) a 20% discount is applied from the approved tariff. The discount is applied on the date of purchase.
c. for transfers from 161 to 250 pieces (access tickets and multiple access cards) a 25% discount is applied from the approved tariff. The discount is applied on the date of purchase.
d. for installments over 251 pieces of access tickets and multiple access cards) a 30% discount is applied from the approved tariff. The discount is applied on the date of purchase.

a. Children up to 7 years old have free access to all the objects of the Museum of National History and Archaeology Constanța
b. Pupils and students benefit from discounts/free access to all the objectives of the Museum of National History and Archaeology Constanta, based on their current student ID/passport.
c. Adults and children with disabilities, as well as the person accompanying them, benefit from free admission to all entrance tickets, and access is based on the certificate issued by the competent authorities or any other supporting documents.
d. Pensioners benefit from discounts, according to the above rates, access is allowed based on the latest pension coupon and identity card.
e. The photo/video rates refer to photography and filming by legal entities for the production of cultural events, albums, tourist guides, postcards, documentary films and other such productions, as well as for various private events (photo modeling, music video clips and the like). For individuals, the photo/video rate is included in the visiting ticket rate.
f. For the Hypogeum Painted Tomb objective, the guiding service is not available.
g. The multiple access card refers to a fee applied for a package of objectives (for access to the museum (headquarters), the museum complexes (museums, fortresses) Histria, Adamlisi, Capidava, Carsium and Axiopolis) includes a single access to each of the objectives included in the package. The multiple access card is valid until December 31 of the year of its acquisition.
h. Free admission/exemptions may be granted, by order or at the request of the President of the Constanța County Council, on the occasion of special events/national holidays, tributes and/or commemorations of cultural figures, entertainment and sports events, concerts, festivals, shows, film screenings or within social-educational, cultural programs, depending on the capacity or number of seats available.
i. For cultural institutions subordinated to the Constanta County Council, the sale prices of entrance tickets represent the final prices.
j. For the period during which rehabilitation works are being carried out at the headquarters of the Museum of National History and Archaeology in Constanța, visitor access is prohibited, meaning that approval of an access fee is not necessary.
