Floarea de crin\u00a0 a simbolizat de-a lungul istoriei puritatea, fertilitatea \u0219i noble\u021bea, iar iconografia cre\u0219tin\u0103 medieval\u0103 a asociat-o Fecioarei Maria. Din perspectiv\u0103 heraldic\u0103, fleur-de-lys<\/em> apare \u00eenc\u0103 din secolul al XII-lea, devenind \u00een timpul domniei lui Ludovic al VII-lea simbol al monarhiei franceze. A fost, de asemenea, una dintre florile preferate ale Reginei Maria, care a inclus-o frecvent \u00een picturile sale, \u00een vestimenta\u021bie, piese de mobilier sau obiecte de art\u0103 decorativ\u0103.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Acvila bicefal\u0103 este asociat\u0103, la r\u00e2ndul s\u0103u, ideilor de putere imperial\u0103 \u0219i autoritate, fiind simbolul ultimilor \u00eemp\u0103ra\u021bi bizantini. \u00cen heraldica medieval\u0103 \u0219i modern\u0103, aceasta a fost preluat\u0103 de numeroase state \u0219i dinastii europene. Reg\u0103sim acest simbol al suveranit\u0103\u021bii \u0219i \u00een \u021aara Rom\u00e2neasc\u0103, pe stema Cantacuzinilor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Obiectul prezentat a intrat \u00een patrimoniul Muzeului de Istorie Na\u021bional\u0103 \u0219i Arheologie Constan\u021ba \u00een anii \u201970, prin transfer de la Teatrul Liric, unde figura ca f\u0103c\u00e2nd parte din \u201ecolec\u021bia regal\u0103\u201d. Piesa dateaz\u0103, cel mai probabil, de la sf\u00e2r\u0219itul secolului al \u00a0XIX-lea \u2013 \u00eenceputul secolului XX, \u0219i impresioneaz\u0103 prin decorul elegant, care integreaz\u0103 \u00eensemne specifice regalit\u0103\u021bii \u0219i reflect\u0103, astfel, caracterul s\u0103u ceremonial \u0219i rafinamentul epocii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Royal Elegance by the Seaside. A Crystal Vessel Bearing Symbols of Sovereignty<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The month of May holds multiple meanings in the history of Romania and Europe. Major events that shaped the modern history of our country \u2014 such as the achievement of Independence, the integration of Dobruja into the borders of the Romanian state, and the adoption of the country\u2019s first Constitution, one of the most modern in Europe at the time \u2014 are inextricably linked to the monarchy and marked a period of political stability, economic growth, and the development of education and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n King Carol I of Romania foresaw early the strategic importance of Dobruja and, above all, of Constan\u021ba as a gateway to the sea \u2014 a vital element for the economic development of a state. The royal family consequently began visiting Dobruja more frequently, building a royal residence in Constan\u021ba, followed by the Queen\u2019s Nest in the harbor and the Royal Palace in the young resort town of Mamaia. Perhaps this crystal vessel, which we present to you this month, once stood on the table of one of these residences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The object is a centerpiece vessel made of transparent crystal, elongated in shape with rounded ends, and of rather impressive dimensions: 66 cm x 16.5 cm x 17.5 cm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The piece, which most likely served either as a fruit bowl or decorative object, is richly ornamented along its entire length with the image of the double-headed eagle with outstretched wings. The eagle is framed by vegetal motifs. At the rounded ends of the vessel appears, symmetrically arranged, the \u201cfleur-de-lys\u201d \u2014 the stylized lily flower. Between the two heads of the eagle stands a stylized crown with three fleurons (ornaments shaped like stylized flowers or leaves), topped by a cross. The entire decoration is rendered in relief using frosted crystal, delicately contrasting with the transparency of the vessel and highlighting the chosen symbols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Throughout history, the lily flower has symbolized purity, fertility, and nobility, while medieval Christian iconography associated it with the Virgin Mary. From a heraldic perspective, the fleur-de-lys appeared as early as the 12th century, becoming, during the reign of Louis VII of France, a symbol of the French monarchy. It was also one of the favorite floral motifs of Queen Marie of Romania, who frequently incorporated it into her paintings, clothing, furniture pieces, and decorative art objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The double-headed eagle, in turn, is associated with ideas of imperial power and authority, having been the symbol of the last Byzantine emperors. In medieval and modern heraldry, it was adopted by numerous European states and dynasties.
